Panama
This coffee from Boquete is special to me because I have been there and met a few of the farmers from Boquete. I really happy to carry this coffee from there. A lot of the coffee farms are being turned into vegetable farms because its harder to make a living growing coffee. This is leading for more deforestation having all the coffee trees tore down and plowed fields. So buy this great coffee and keep coffee alive in Panama.
This is roasted just into the second crack. Just touching the dark roast range to maintain the flavor. This is a great coffee and comes with a lot of history involving the US.

Coffee Cherry (Fruit) Tea "Cascara" 1/2 lb
"Cascara" means "husk" in Spanish, and is the word used to describe the dried pulp of the coffee cherry once it is removed from the seed, which is sometimes used to make a kind of tea-like infusion. The flavor of the drink that cascara makes is rather unique: a little floral, a little fruity, and a little pulpy or raisiny.
A Recipe For Hot Cascara
Want a nice hot mug of rich, sweet cascara?
Here’s what you need:
- 5g cascara cherry husks
- 250g water
- Mug + Strainer (Or Teapot)
Bring your water to 190 degrees and pour over the cascara husks in a strainer.
If the husks are slim pieces, brew for 3 minutes. If the husks are round nearly-whole dried husks, brew for 5 minutes. Once the time is up, strain and enjoy.
This cascara comes from coffees harvested at two farms in Llano Bonito de Naranjo, which were processed at the Helsar Micromill in collaboration with the University of Costa Rica. While most cascara that is on the market has not been commercially produced (and therefore can contain high quantities of debris, contaminants, foreign matter, and chemicals), this coffee was selected specifically for processing this way: The cherry pulp was collected, washed, pasteurized, and dried using food-grade technology and to particular standards. Organic testing on this lot of cascara has proved it to be clean and safe to use.
